Identification of key regulatory proteins in formation of spatial memory

Grant Type: Young Investigator Grant, Second Year
Institute: Biochemistry department, Faculty of Life Sciences, Tel Aviv University

Aging affects learning abilities in human beings. Among different subtypes of memories, impairment of navigational ability (spatial memory) is the most vulnerable. The brain structure responsible for this type of memory is also involved in memory formation processes. The current project aims to discover major regulatory factors in spatial memory formation. The outcomes of this extensive study will be further validated in animal models via behavioral and functional tests.
